We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Developer to work for an organization based in the UK. The successful candidate will work remotely and will be responsible for managing the IT infrastructure of their clients in the education sector.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain the company website to ensure functionality and stability across all devices
Collaborate with marketing team to integrate brand elements and product info
Optimise website speed and scalability
Monitor server resource usage
Set up automated tasks on the server to maximise efficiency and reduce repetitive tasks
Review tools used to serve content to end-users, and make recommendations to improve efficacy/reduce cost based on your research
Use graphic design tools such as Illustrator for digital and print
Promptly troubleshoot issues/tickets as they arise from schools and individual student subscriptions.
Update the Question bank graphics and scripts as needed
Maintain the server, the domain registrations, SSL certificates, API integrations, DNS updates and cybersecurity related issues as advised.
Any other projects and activities that are within the capabilities of the jobholder.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science, or IT
1+ years of experience in core web technologies, PHP, MySQL, Linux, UI/UX principles, server administration and content management systems- WordPress/Joomla plugins
Good understanding of principles/techniques to ensure best practice in programming and minimise/eliminate vulnerabilities
Experience with development tools such as Git
Knowledge of/experience with LLMs such as ChatGPT an advantage
Knowledge of/experience in graphic design desirable but not necessary
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated, proactive individual with good time management and prioritisation skills
