Exciting news, one of our clients, a leading company in the travel industry, is looking for a Tour Guide and Office Assistant Manager to contribute to the growth and success of our agency.  Working closely with the founder, you will be supporting with the planning and coordination of tours, supervising and guiding junior and mid-level staff members and managing office activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Tour Bookings:

  • Manage and process tour bookings efficiently.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their travel preferences and customize our tour
  • Packages accordingly.
  • Tour Planning and Coordination:
  • Plan and organize diverse tour itineraries and ensure a seamless experience for clients.
  • Coordinate logistics, transportation, and accommodations for tours in Somaliland.
  • Serve as a tour guide in Somaliland, providing in-depth knowledge and insights during tours.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of our clients throughout the journey.

Driver Requirement:

  • Serve as a driver when necessary, ensuring safe transportation for clients during tours.

Local Tourism Knowledge:

  • Deep knowledge of Somaliland’s culture, history, geography, and natural sites.
  • Passionate about adventure tourism, hiking, cultural exploration, and able to share this with clients.

Client/Partner Relations:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Address inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.

Additional Tasks:

  • Undertaking any other necessary tasks deemed reasonable for the efficient functioning of the role.
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the travel industry and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.

General Office Management

  • Handle administrative tasks related to tour documentation, budgeting/finance, permits, and agreements.
  • Oversee the daily office operations to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Supervising and guiding junior/mid-level staff including providing training.
  • Prepare all administrative tasks and correspondence related to the office.

Availability:

  • Willingness to travel extensively within Somaliland.
  • Flexible working weekends and holidays depending on tour schedules.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in tour operations and travel management, or management experience
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Somali + English; knowledge of other local languages is
  • advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the Somaliland tourism landscape is a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel through Somaliland and Djibouti as needed.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
